  • When Frankie and Josette opened the Kaputa Café & Wine Bar they knew right from the start that they wanted it to be different from the rest.

They chose a very typical name well-used by the locals of Nadur and Qala on the island of Gozo. 'Kaputa' means a small barrel – the holder of good and seasoned things and this made sense since they decided to focus on traditional cuisine. Where today is the Kaputa Restaurant was formerly a 300 year old, 3 storey house converted into a restaurant.

This all-round eatery includes a wine bar, cafeteria, restaurant and pizzeria but not only. Find also a small library of books, a WiFi system and live sports transmission on big screen. Parking is not a problem in the main square of the village of Qala.

The Kaputa has become the kind of place where young people and families chill out and enjoy a relaxed ambience. Indoor seating extends onto a terrace overlooking the parish church, so smokers can also enjoy Kaputa dining in the open. Even if there is no time to stop and stay for a bite, you can always order a Take-away and enjoy Kaputa dining at home.
