KSU Takes On El Camino de SantiagoCommunity
15 September 09:00 - 13:00
Has the stress of deadlines, exams and responsibilities taken its toll? Are you looking to disconnect from our hectic society this summer, stretch your legs and take a breath of fresh air?
For the first time ever, KSU will be taking on the Camino de Santiago, a trek with a rich history dating back over 1000 years. The original trek was 800km long starting from St Jean Pied du Pord in the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains in France and ending at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in north western Spain.
We will be following the Camino Frances Route, a 120km trek from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela split over 5 days (roughly 24km per day). Your time on the famous walking route will take you across the beautiful landscape of Northern Spain. You will meet other travellers, taste local cuisine and experience the unique Camino culture along the way. Rustic suburbs, quaint villages and the rolling hills of Galicia are part of your walk each day.
While a high degree of fitness is not a must, participants will be required to walk approximately 24 kilometres a day, carrying a backpack. Two representatives from KSU will be accompanying the group. KSU will be organizing multiple hikes, team building events and preparatory workshops in these 2 months leading up to the Camino.
The price of the trip is €450 which includes:
- All Flights (4 in total)
- 7-night accommodation
The Application form will be up shortly and we will be releasing more information on the event in the coming days, so stay tuned! Should you have any further queries do not hesitate to contact the International Office on firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to having you on board!
